Trading Places: Ray to head up new CME European exchange

Robert Ray, currently Managing Director, Products and Services, will become Chief Executive Officer of CME Europe. CME launched CME Clearing Europe in May 2011, and recently applied to create a London-based derivatives exchange.

Oliver Corbett was named CFO of LCH.Clearnet, replacing the interim CFO Jeffrey Hughes. Corbett most recently served as Finance Director of Novae Group. His prior worked experience also includes a stint at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.

Ron Epstein, Anthony Croce, and Anthony Rizzo joined R.J. O’Brien & Associates (RJO) as Senior Vice President, Institutional Softs Desk. The three are part of the firm’s recently established team of soft commodity brokers, who will serve global clients from the firm’s New York office. Epstein previously was a Senior Trader at Marex Spectron, while Croce and Rizzo both come to the company from JSG Futures, where they were principals.

Corinne Riguzzi is now Head of Surveillance & Enforcement at SIX Exchange, where she began work in 2006.

Jose Contin was named General Manager of Broadridge City Networks EMEA. Contin, who will be based in London, will focus on growing business in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He previously was head of the company’s U.S. Broker-Dealer Relationship Sales team.

Christopher Fix was appointed CEO of Dubai Mercantile Exchange. Fix formerly was head of marketing for Commodities Futures APAC at BNP Paribas in Singapore. “I am very excited to be joining at a time when the DME has experienced record volumes in four out of the five months since the beginning of the year, new clients and a revised shareholder structuring," Fix said in a statement.

Dawn Stump joined the Futures Industry Association (FIA) as senior vice president and head of government affairs. Stump previously served as vice president of government affairs at NYSE Euronext. She also has held senior staff positions at the Senate and House Agriculture Committees. In her new role, she will oversee FIA’s relations with Congress and implement its regulatory and legislative strategy.

Jon Robson was appointed head of NYSE Technologies. Robson became head of Thomson Reuters’s new business development office in December following a shake-up of its markets business.

Jonathan Lindabury joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP as a senior counsel in the firm’s global derivatives practice. He joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he was vice president and associate general counsel.

Gregg Berman will head the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) new trading data analysis team to monitor markets, which will be called the Office of Analytics and Research. Berman already is senior adviser to the director of the Division of Trading and Markets.
