In response to growing interest in cryptocurrencies and customer demand for tools to manage bitcoin exposure, CME Group will launch options on Bitcoin futures (BTC) on January 13, 2020.
DB1, CME: the ECB working group on euro risk-free rates is calling on market participants and interested parties to comment on its assessment of candidate euro risk-free rates against key selection criteria. The new euro risk-free rate will replace EONIA, which will no longer meet the criteria of the EU Benchmarks.
CME Group announced it reached an all-time daily volume record of 51.9 million contracts traded on May 29, 2018. The previous single-day volume record was 44.5 million contracts, set on Nov. 9, 2016.
CME Group Bitcoin futures for May (K) contract expired this morning. The Bitcoin Reference Rate settled at $7,493.94 and trading in May futures straddled the theoretical rate by $10 early in pricing period and $5 in last 10 minutes of pricing period. CME Group and Eris Exchange have struck an exclusive licensing agreement to migrate Eris USD Interest Rate Swap Futures to CME Group and the CME Globex trading platform in Q4 2018.
CME Group Inc. and NEX Group plc (NXG.L) today announced that they have reached an agreement in which CME Group will acquire NEX in a transaction valued at £10 per share, consisting of 500 pence in cash and 0.0444 CME Group shares (based on CME's closing share price of US$158.84 on March 28, 2018 and the exchange rate of US$1.4101:£1, on March 28, 2018).
